Tour Itinerary

DAY 1

Arrival in Tbilisi. Meeting at the Tbilisi international airport with a sign of “IRC tour”. Transfer to your hotel.

 

 

 DAY 2

The city break tour offers you the sightseeing of Tbilisi, visiting the historic and architectural monuments, describing the 1500 year-old history of the city. Your journey of discovering will take in the Sioni Cathedral and the 6th century Anchiskhati Basilica, the oldest church in the city, before continuing on to see the city's history museum and the imposing 4th century ruins of the Narikala Fortress, which once dominated the city from its hilltop setting. You will visit to Tbilisi Sulphur bathes as well, (17th and 19th centuries) – The history of the Sulphur baths in Tbilisi is related to the formation of the city itself.

DAY 3

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Kakheti.

Kakheti is the largest wine producing region of Georgia and it is just a couple of hours away from the capital, Tbilisi.  We take a walk in the fortified town of Sighnaghi and taste local wines at a winery. Continue to visit the estate of Georgian dukes from the 19th century in Tsinandali. Visiting to Alaverdi cathedral where we can take a tour of monastery winery and taste very special wines made by monks. We’ll enjoy our lunch at a farmer’s house with home-made dishes. We will see how Georgian sweet „Churchkhela“ (walnuts coated in grape juice and flour) is made and Georgian bread “Shoti” is baked.

DAY 4

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from Sighnaghi to Vashlovani preserve The Vashlovani preserve (you will experience the local beautiful canyons and landscapes here. The local climate is that characteristic to the semi-desert; this territory of Georgia is featured with the least quantity of precipitation. This area is also famous for the rarest species of Caucasian ounce, inhabiting here, surrounded with the diverse endemic flora and fauna). Back to Sighnaghi. Dinner and overnight stay.

 

   DAY 5

Breakfast at the hotel. The rout keeps from Sighnaghi towards the Khevi region. On the way to Khevi, you will visit the following sights: Ananuri (the late medieval large – scaled architectural ensemble, with three churches, several high towers surrounded with a stone fence. The complex is located on the shore of the Zhinvali water reservoir). Gudauri (mountain ski resort located at 2 000 m. above the sea) The Jvari (Cross) Passing (located at the 2379 m. above the sea. From here, the panoramic view looks down the source of the river Mtiuleti’s Aragvi and the icy tops of the Caucasus mountains). Travertinis (sediment formations of powerful mineral waters). The Gergeti Sameba (the complex of Sameba Cathedral overlooks Stepantsminda, from which the most beautiful view is visible down one of the highest tops of the Caucasus mountain tops, permanently covered with snow - Mkinvartsveri). Dinner and overnight stay at the guesthouse in Stepantsminda.

 

   

 

DAY 6

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the village Roshka. A Magical, mysterious place, with a view to a spectacular Chiukhi Mountain, The Abudelauri lakes are situated in far north of the eastern part of Caucasus Mountains at an altitude of 2500m in alpine zones at the foot of the Chiukhi Massif. Lots of legends and myths are connected to these lakes. From Village Roshka 6-7km (max. 2 hours walk) to the first two lakes and then extra half an hour to reach the white lake.

Back to Tbilisi hotel. Dinner and Overnight Stay.

 

DAY 7

Transfer to the Tbilisi International Airport. Departure from Tbilisi.
